What § 9 requires
- The emergency equipment matches the services of the doctors working in the practice. A bag-valve mask is available on site § 9(1).
- It is maintained regularly, with proof, and the expiry dates are checked regularly § 9(2).
- Who is responsible for maintenance is set down in writing § 9(3).
- The emergency kit is easy to reach and clearly marked as such. The phone numbers of the emergency doctor, the police and other emergency services are at hand at every phone § 9(4).

What works as proof
- a contents list of the emergency kit with expiry dates;
- a check log: when checked, by whom, what was replaced;
- the written assignment of who is responsible, and who covers;
- emergency numbers as a sticker or list at every phone.
Common gaps
- Medicines in the emergency kit have expired.
- The check log stops when the responsible assistant left the practice.
- The phone in the treatment room has no list.
